AdaptIQ ("we", "us", or "our") operates the AdaptIQ mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App and the choices you have associated with that data.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

• Account registration: Name, email address, phone number, and a hashed password when you sign up with email/OTP.
• Google Sign-In: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
• Exam selection: The exam category you choose (UPSC, NEET, Banking, State PSC).
• Referral codes: Referral codes you enter or share.

b) Automatically Collected Data

• Quiz performance: Your answers, scores, streaks, badges, and chapter-level performance are stored locally on your device.
• Session data: Question session counts and timestamps (stored locally via SharedPreferences).
• Subscription status: Your subscription expiry date is stored locally on your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To personalize adaptive quiz content based on your performance.
• To track your learning progress (streaks, badges, leaderboard).
• To manage free and premium access tiers.
• To generate AI-powered practice questions using the OpenAI API — your chapter context and performance level are sent to OpenAI to generate relevant questions. No personally identifiable information is sent.
• To process referral rewards.

3. Data Storage

Most of your data (quiz history, performance, subscription status) is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database and SharedPreferences. We do not operate a central server that stores your personal data.

Account credentials (name, email, hashed password, phone) are stored only on your device.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services that may collect data subject to their own privacy policies:

• Google Sign-In — Google Privacy Policy
• OpenAI API — Used to generate adaptive quiz questions. Non-personal learning context is sent. OpenAI Privacy Policy

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users preparing for competitive exams and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

All user data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all data by uninstalling the App. To request deletion of any data tied to your account (name, email), contact us at the email below.

8. Security

Passwords are stored as salted hashes — we never store plain-text passwords. We use industry-standard practices to protect your data. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
